About The Position

The Expeditor position ensures the smooth flow of food from the kitchen to the dining area, coordinating orders, maintaining quality standards, and enhancing the overall dining experience. This position reports to the Sous Chef. Ensures that the service station is ready for meal service. Acts as a liaison between the kitchen staff and waitstaff, ensuring that food orders are prepared and delivered in a timely manner. Inspects dishes for accuracy and presentation before they leave the kitchen, ensuring they meet the restaurant's standards. Assists in the final plating and garnishing of dishes, ensuring they are visually appealing and ready for service. Maintains clear communication with kitchen staff and servers regarding order status, potential delays, and any issues that arise. Handles customer complaints and resolves any discrepancies related to food quality or order accuracy. Upholds health and sanitation standards in the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring a clean and safe environment for food preparation and service.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience; basic culinary knowledge is a plus.
  • Culinary students welcome.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Interest in learning and growing within the kitchen team.
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills are essential for effectively relaying orders and coordinating between the kitchen and front-of-house staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple orders and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Keen eye for attention detail to ensure that all dishes meet quality and presentation standards.
  • Ability to be on your feet and moving quickly throughout the restaurant.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a restaurant setting, particularly in roles that involve food service or kitchen operations, is often preferred.
