Flex Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA)
About The Position
Gentle Dentist is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to provide clinically excellent dental care and support dentists and hygienists. The role serves multiple Gentle Dentist practices within the Indianapolis area, so the ideal Flex Team Member is comfortable commuting between offices, adapting to different personalities, and assisting where needed. Requirements
- Certification as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) or equivalent.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and equipment.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care.
- Comfort commuting to different offices within the Indianapolis area and adapting to different personalities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clinically excellent dental care through patient education and quality treatment.
- Assist dentists and hygienists with diagnosis through X-rays, verbal communication, and other dental tests as directed.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patients according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Sterilize and deliver instruments to the treatment area, position instruments for the dentist’s access, suction, and pass instruments.
- Place and finish permanent restorations.
- Complete preliminary impressions and make and polish temporary crowns.
- Remove temporary crowns and fit permanent crowns and bridges.
- Adjust occlusions and interproximal areas.
- Apply sealants and adjust partials and dentures.
