About The Position

Mid America Health is seeking a full-time Expanded Functions Dental Assistant to join its Ohio team at Marion Correctional Institution in Marion, Ohio. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. It offers an alternative to private practice dentistry and involves treating an underserved population. The role includes routine chairside duties for preventive, restorative, extraction, and prosthodontic care. It also includes placing and finishing permanent dental fillings, applying fluoride varnishes and desensitizing agents, giving oral hygiene instructions, and performing some administrative duties. Orthodontics and crown-and-bridge work are not included; endodontic work is very limited.

Requirements

• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• Active Ohio Dental Radiographer License.
• Active Ohio Expanded Functions Dental Auxiliary license.
• Must be willing to travel throughout Ohio when the position transitions to that stage.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience.
• Certificate from an accredited dental assisting program.

Responsibilities
