About The Position

The Expanded Functions Dental Assistant works in a privately owned dental practice, helping provide patient care and create a smooth, patient-first environment. The role involves assisting the doctor, supporting patients throughout their visit, maintaining clinical supplies and treatment rooms, and following applicable safety and privacy guidelines. The position is scheduled four days per week, with Mondays off and no weekends. The listed hours are Tuesday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Wednesday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Thursday 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. Compensation starts at $30 per hour and may increase based on experience.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant.
Certifications required by the state, which may include Radiology Certification, CPR, Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), or Registered Dental Assistant in Extended Functions (RDAEF).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with dental software such as Denticon, Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar software is required.

Nice To Haves

Expanded Duties Dental Assistant qualification.
Experience with IV sedation.
Experience with Cerec.

Responsibilities

Welcome patients and get them situated in the appropriate treatment room.
Assist the doctor in providing care to patients.
Stay knowledgeable about existing and emerging technologies and clinical initiatives that affect the back-office experience.
Actively monitor lab materials and supplies.
Develop relationships with patients.
Follow all OSHA and HIPAA guidelines.
Clean and sterilize instruments and prepare treatment rooms as needed.
Take, expose, and mount high-quality dental radiographs.
Contribute to the team in achieving business objectives and goals.
Maintain a safe and secure environment for patients and the team.
