The Special Assistant to the CEO serves as a trusted partner to the CEO and selected Board leadership, helping keep projects, communications, and organizational priorities moving forward. This position requires sound judgment, exceptional discretion, professionalism, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while representing NC 100 with nonprofit leaders, educators, elected officials, funders, and community partners. The CEO works across philanthropy, nonprofit leadership, local government, education, and economic development. The Special Assistant serves as a trusted thought partner who helps transform ideas into organized action. This role offers an unusual opportunity to learn firsthand how community partnerships are built—from the first conversation through implementation, while working alongside leaders in philanthropy, education, government, and nonprofit organizations. The ideal candidate is: Comfortable managing multiple priorities. Committed to community impact and nonprofit service. Equally comfortable preparing a board packet, facilitating a meeting, coordinating a community event, or helping organize a new initiative from scratch.
