Boston College is establishing the Krantz Institute for Artificial Intelligence, Ethics, and Humanity, a transformative initiative enabled by a significant gift. The Institute aims to leverage Boston College's Jesuit, Catholic identity to explore the opportunities, implications, and challenges of artificial intelligence. It seeks to inform discussions on AI, instill critical thinking and ethical judgment in students to foster moral leadership in AI development, and ensure humanistic values remain central to the evolving approach to AI. The Executive Director will report to the Provost and Dean of Faculties and will be responsible for building the Institute into a national and global leader in AI teaching, research, and discussion, scaling AI initiatives across all nine schools and colleges. This role involves transforming an early-stage platform into a sustainable hub of institutional excellence by convening global thought leaders, cultivating student leadership through fellowships and experiential learning, and advancing campus-wide AI programs and innovation.
