About The Position
The Excavation Install Apprentice works alongside experienced technicians to learn underground utility work and the safe operation of job-related equipment. The role provides hands-on experience in a trade and supports residential and commercial utility installation projects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn excavation techniques.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively under supervision.
- Reliable, dependable, and safety-conscious.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in construction, excavation, or related trades.
- Commercial driver's license (CDL).
Responsibilities
- Assist with trenching, digging, grading, and backfilling for utility installations.
- Support installation of underground piping, conduits, and drainage systems under supervision.
- Prepare tools, equipment, and materials for daily job assignments.
- Learn the proper use of excavation equipment, hand tools, and safety gear.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment on job sites.
- Perform manual labor, including shoveling, lifting, compacting, and hauling materials.
- Communicate effectively with crew leads and supervisors about work activities.
