About The Position

The EVS Tech maintains a clean and safe environment inside and outside the hospital by performing duties according to departmental techniques, procedures, and needs. The role cleans assigned areas, including administrative offices, public lavatories, lounges, and other public areas, and may assist with setups, linen delivery, mail delivery, and general deliveries. Scheduled work includes Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with every other weekend and holiday; work may also include a variety of shifts. The position supports patient and family satisfaction by demonstrating excellent customer service and standards of behavior, promoting teamwork and direct communication, and handling confidential information discreetly and sensitively. The employee contributes to quality improvement by identifying problems, seeking solutions, and participating in departmental efforts to monitor and report customer service.

Requirements

Ability to communicate orally and/or in writing and follow directions.
Ability to remain stationary and move around the work location frequently.
Ability to transport, position, and/or exert force of up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
A work permit may be required.

Responsibilities

Clean assigned areas, including administrative offices, public lavatories, lounges, and public areas.
Sweep, dust, dust mop, and wet mop floors and stairways; spot carpets; and buff hard floors.
Collect and appropriately dispose of trash and refuse from work areas.
Clean, sanitize, and polish baths, lavatories, and shower and sink fixtures; stock paper and soap products as needed.
Dust, wash, sponge mop, sanitize, and extract furniture; clean and polish glass surfaces, walls, windowsills, window frames, doors, and registers.
Scrub bathroom tiles, woodwork, lights, and vents.
Maintain equipment and materials in a clean and orderly manner.
Assist with setups, linen delivery, mail delivery, and general deliveries.
Vacuum and edge carpeted areas as needed.
Demonstrate excellent customer service and standards of behavior; encourage, coach, and monitor the same in team members.
Promote teamwork and direct communication with coworkers and handle confidential information discreetly and sensitively.
Identify problems and seek solutions; promote patient and family satisfaction and participate in departmental customer-service monitoring and reporting efforts.
Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
