About The Position

This position performs housekeeping tasks and projects to maintain a safe, clean environment in patient rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, offices, and clinical areas. Duties include cleaning and disinfecting, removing regular trash and biohazardous waste, operating cleaning and waste-removal equipment, and restocking supplies. The position exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust) and contributes to the organization’s mission and philosophy, patient- and family-centered care, and shared governance.

Requirements

Must be knowledgeable in the use of chemicals and equipment.
Must be able to move or position 50 pounds independently.
Must have good vision or wear prescribed glasses.
Must tolerate pressure and stress, including task interruptions and overload, and adapt to change.
A flexible schedule is required, including overtime and weekend assignments.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect assigned areas according to established protocols and procedures, completing tasks efficiently.
Use the correct chemicals safely for each task.
Restock assigned areas with paper towels, soap, sanitizer, toilet paper, and other supplies as needed.
Remove regular trash and biohazardous waste according to established procedures.
Follow universal precautions and isolation procedures.
Demonstrate dependability and cooperation in support of effective organizational operations.
Incorporate the concepts of patient- and family-centered care, including dignity, respect, information sharing, and participation.
Contribute to the development and implementation of shared governance across the organization.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
May carry a beeper and answer pages.
