About The Position

Responsible for the general cleanliness of assigned areas in medical facilities, including procedure areas, patient care areas, and other areas requiring environmental services support. Distributes linen throughout the facility and removes trash and linen using a compactor and cardboard baler. Moves furniture and other heavy equipment as directed.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED, with the ability to read, write, and understand English.
Two years of work in environmental services may substitute for the education requirement.
Prior cleaning experience.
Two years of experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting; domestic experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

Performs cleaning functions in assigned areas using prescribed methods.
Maintains assigned equipment to keep it clean and arranges for repairs when necessary.
Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, buildings, and fixtures.
Ensures assigned areas are clean and have a neat appearance.
Follows department and hospital policies and procedures.
Learns other functions or positions to support satisfactory department or work-unit operations and flexible staffing assignments.
Works in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment and performs duties and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
Distributes linen through the facility.
Removes trash and linen using a compactor and cardboard baler.
Moves furniture and other heavy equipment as directed.
