About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for the supervision of the cleaning of all surfaces and assigned areas daily. Additional duties include moving furniture and assisting with activity room set up as requested. Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One (1) to three (3) years of housekeeping and supervisory experience in a long-term care community requires an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Incumbents should be able to apply practical knowledge and understanding when instructions are furnished in written and oral form.
  • Possess high-quality verbal and written communication ability.
  • Strong customer service and knowledgeable basic cleaning principles and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, assign, and schedule housekeeping and laundry staff across resident living areas and common spaces.
  • Train staff on cleaning techniques appropriate for senior living, including infection control, resident privacy, and memory care–specific practices.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance touchpoints, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in interviewing, selecting, onboarding, and mentoring new team members.
  • Promote a caring, service-oriented culture centered on resident satisfaction.
  • Acts as a leader and manager of assigned positions; ensuring productivity, efficiency and accuracy in work performed.
  • Ensure residents, apartments, bathrooms, dining spaces, activity rooms, and high-touch areas are cleaned to organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee timely room turnovers for new admissions and discharges.
  • Support personalized room cleaning schedules based on resident service plans and preferences.
  • Ensure laundry services—including resident personal laundry—are completed according to infection control and quality standards.
  • Implement and monitor infection control practices aligned with senior living guidelines and community health standards.
  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures for memory care, isolation rooms, and high-risk areas.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA, state licensing regulations, and community standards for cleanliness and waste management.
  • Oversee safe handling and disposal of biohazardous materials and chemicals.
  • Maintain documentation required for audits, licensing reviews, and health inspections.
  • Respond quickly and courteously to residents, family, or staff upon request.
  • Maintains professional presence when representing Ingleside; exhibits degrees of professionalism consistent with standards in performance, behavior, and appearance.
  • Always maintain resident confidentiality according to policies and procedures; use discretion when discussing confidential matters.
  • Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior with residents, families, co-workers, subordinates, supervisors, and other department staff.
  • Maintains positive working relationships with management and coworkers; willingly follow directions and requests as appropriate.
  • Demonstrates professional development/skills of competency in all activities.
  • Participates in in-service projects, or committees as assigned.
  • Maintains all certifications necessary for employment.
  • Demonstrates flexibility, open mindedness, and versatility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements, as necessary.
  • Commit to continually improving his/her skills through participation in education opportunities whether offered on the job, within, or outside of the community, to increase knowledge of work-related issues.
  • Maintains a current knowledge of federal, state, and other regulations applicable to jobs.
  • Complies with Ingleside at Rock Creek established safety rules and practices.
  • Comply with applicable safety policies and procedures as prescribed by the organization, as well as government regulations.
  • Reports any potential safety hazard(s) immediately to supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
  • Report any injury of resident, visitor, or employee immediately to supervisor or other appropriate personnel.
  • Assist residents, visitors, or employees in an emergency, following the proper emergency procedures.
