About The Position

The Evol Operator works at the Griffin Box Plant and operates and sets up machinery to produce quality boxes at maximum output. The role includes preparing equipment for each order, monitoring production, inspecting finished boxes, correcting defects, and keeping the work area and materials organized. The position is hourly, full-time, and on the third shift, from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Mandatory overtime and weekend work are required.

Responsibilities

Ensure all safety devices are in place and working properly.
Use centerline during setup; raise and run back the pre-feeder; zero and open the machine; lock out and begin wash-up; and set anilox rolls to zero.
Remove old print dies; check the flow card, print card, construction card, and print die number; and hang the print die for the next order.
Set pull rolls, kicker and stroke, calibration, and registrations using the centerline sheet.
Assist crew members as needed, close and ink the machine, and run boxes through to check dimensions.
Set the stacker and bundler for the upcoming order, and keep sheets picked up at the stacker or feeder during production.
Follow run procedures and control machine speed to produce a quality product at maximum output.
Check the bundle count on the first handful of boxes; confirm boxes are glued properly; and check the stacking plan, load tags, and unit count on the first load.
Set aside two bundles of quality boxes at startup for replacements; remove defects found during inspection and replace them with good boxes, maintaining the required counts.
Confirm the final count matches the bundle specification and count scrap boxes to verify the number of replacements; add any difference to the final unit if the counts do not match.
Check and fold at least one box per unit; maintain constant ink and glue flow; and watch for and respond to jam-ups.
Stack bad sheets for reuse and place waste in the scrap cart.
Check that the MDC system operates correctly at the beginning, middle, and end of each order.
