About The Position

The Evol Operator operates and sets up machinery at the Griffin Box Plant to manufacture quality boxes efficiently. The role includes preparing the machine for orders, setting and checking print and machine components, supporting crew members, monitoring production, and inspecting finished products. The operator controls machine speed to meet quality and output goals and follows established operating procedures. During startup and production, the operator verifies box dimensions, bundle counts, glue quality and flow, ink flow, stacking plans, load tags, unit counts, and final order counts. The operator identifies and removes defective boxes, replaces them with good boxes, monitors for jams, and checks the MDC system at the beginning, middle, and end of each order. The position is hourly, full-time, and scheduled for the third shift from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Mandatory overtime and weekend work are required.

  • Check the bundle count on the first handful of boxes as it leaves the C/E.
  • Check that boxes are glued properly.
  • Check the stacking plan, load tags, and unit count on the first load.
  • At startup, set aside two bundles of quality boxes as replacements for defects.
  • Remove defects found during inspection and replace them with good boxes from the reserved bundles.
  • Confirm the final count matches the bundle specification, replacing the same number of boxes as defects removed.
  • Count scrap boxes to confirm the number equals replacements; add any difference to the final unit if the counts do not match.
  • Check and fold at least one box per unit, and maintain constant ink and glue flow.
