About The Position

York Container, an Atlantic Packaging Company, is an industry leader in the manufacture of performance-based brown box, multi-color display-ready and e-commerce corrugated packaging. We are in search of a highly-motivated, self-driven EVOL OPERATOR to join our successful teams! This role serves as a team lead for an individual assigned work center, holding primary responsibility for multiple facets of equipment operation, including mechanical and computerized set-up. The operator must maintain pre-determined production, quality, and safety standards. Responsibilities also include maintaining equipment and organizing the assigned work area.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED preferred
A minimum of 3 years’ experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment
Exceptional mechanical ability
Ability to proficiently use hand tools, small power tools, and computerized set up process relating to assigned equipment
Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot problems independently and as a team
Ability to keep assigned equipment and related tooling maintained and organized
Strong organizational skills
Basic math and measurement skills
Basic computer skills
Must be able to read supplied order sheets
Must be able to communicate in English

Nice To Haves

Corrugated experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Understand and follow detailed work instructions for each production run, including CAD instructions, print card specifications, and packing instructions.
Conduct scheduled quality checks at set-up, start-up, and periodically throughout the production run, comparing product to CAD instructions and print card specifications.
Complete purge sheets, quality checklists, quality sampling, paperwork, and data entry.
Perform simple mathematical problems.
Operate measuring equipment and understand basic measurement properties.
Act as a team leader, demonstrating self-motivation and the ability to motivate team members.
Clearly communicate with and instruct other members of the assigned work center.
Lift and prepare required tooling related to assigned equipment.
