About The Position

Genesis Manufacturing & Distribution is an industry leader in manufacturing plastic components for medical research, clinical diagnostic, and biotech environments. Its 24-hour facility uses injection molding machines to produce dependable, high-quality products. The 3rd Shift Lead Operator supports efficient production in accordance with stringent quality-control standards. The role involves packaging equipment and automation, troubleshooting equipment, leading operators, and completing daily tasks that keep production running. Shift Lead Operators also schedule operators and coordinate with Injection Mold Shift Coordinators, Quality Control, and Operations to ensure appropriate shift coverage.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Broad understanding of plastics and resins used.
• Ability to delegate assignments to operators.

• Ability to lift 30 pounds.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Knowledge and experience with packaging equipment, labeling systems, and automation.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to lead by example.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment, labeling systems, and automation.
• Troubleshoot equipment on the production floor, including basic machine troubleshooting.
• Lead operators by example and delegate assignments.
• Bag, package, and shrink-wrap finished products.
• Work independently to resolve and reconcile issues.
• Help develop more effective and efficient workflow processes.
• Monitor parts to ensure finished packaged goods meet quality standards.
• Clean and perform general maintenance on the work area and equipment.
• Train Operator I and Operator II employees.
• Communicate and coordinate with multiple departments and positions to improve short- and long-term workflow processes.
• Schedule operators and coordinate with Injection Mold Shift Coordinators, Quality Control, and Operations to ensure proper coverage.
• Perform other related duties as required.
