The Events Coordinator plans, coordinates, and facilitates events—including children’s birthday parties, craft classes, and other activities—at a Michaels store. The role creates fun, engaging experiences for guests of all ages, demonstrates and teaches craft projects, and supports event add-ons such as goody bags and balloons. It also involves communicating with clients and store team members, handling event-related administrative work, adapting plans to client feedback, preparing backup plans, ensuring client satisfaction, and maintaining cleanliness and safety before, during, and after events. In addition to event coordination, the role provides customer service by helping shoppers find products and solutions, delivering a friendly checkout experience, and supporting Rewards and credit-card enrollments and customer surveys. The coordinator also assists with online order fulfillment, truck unloading, stocking, merchandise recovery, store maintenance, shrink and safety programs, and company procedures. Team members are cross-trained in custom framing sales and production and participate in daily store-cleanliness activities. This position is based in a public retail store. Public areas are climate controlled, while some stockrooms may not be; occasional outdoor work may be required for cart retrieval or truck unloading. The frame shop contains a glass cutter and heat press. Work hours include nights, weekends, and early mornings.
