About The Position

The Events and Ministry Coordinator, internally called Coordinator of Senior Adult Services, works with an Apartment Life supervisor to prepare a monthly schedule of events and programming that serves the needs of a senior adult apartment community. The coordinator plans and hosts resident activities, welcomes new residents, provides acts of care, and connects residents with each other and with services and businesses in the wider community. The coordinator lives onsite at the community and serves approximately 12 hours per week. The role is compensated with discounted rent and is not a paid position. The community is adults-only for residents aged 55 and older; the coordinator does not need to be in that age group, though a similar stage of life is preferred. Coordinators with children or minor dependents living at home are not eligible because of age restrictions. The role requires a minimum two-year commitment. Many Senior Adult communities require some daytime weekday availability, and the stated availability requirement also notes that duties are mainly in the evenings and on weekends.
