As an Event Transportation Assistant, you'll play a vital role in delivering the equipment, materials, and support that help Creative Greensboro bring arts and cultural experiences to life. The Event Transportation Assistant provides transportation and logistical support for Creative Greensboro's off-site events by safely transporting music, theater, and event equipment to venues throughout the community. This position is responsible for operating rental box trucks, assisting with equipment handling, and working collaboratively with staff and volunteers to ensure events are set up safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role reflects the City's commitment to being people-centered, innovative, and purpose-driven, helping deliver arts experiences that enrich the community and enhance Greensboro's exceptional quality of life.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License.
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience driving box trucks at least 15 feet in length.
• Experience operating a liftgate.
• Experience pushing rolling equipment and assisting with lifting equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• One (1) to two (2) years of experience working as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Experience driving 24-26 foot box trucks with liftgates.
• Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Good driving record with no moving violations within the past three years.
• Experience safely packing, loading, and transporting music, theater, or event production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, operate, and return rental box trucks used for City events.
• Safely transport music, drama, and event equipment to and from event sites.
• Operate liftgates and other loading equipment safely.
• Assist with packing, loading, securing, unloading, and organizing event equipment.
• Work closely with staff and volunteers during event setup and breakdown.
• Help ensure equipment is transported safely to prevent damage.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and City policies.
• Maintain professional communication while representing Creative Greensboro at community events.
• Assist with additional event logistics as assigned.
