About The Position

First Class Security is seeking Event Security Officers to staff concerts, festivals, corporate functions, private events, and venue engagements. This is as-needed work where officers can claim shifts that fit their schedule. The role involves screening, access control, and post assignments at event entrances and within event spaces. Officers are expected to screen accurately, verify credentials correctly, document observations, and escalate issues rather than engage directly.

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older
  • Minimum 1 year of verifiable security experience (event, venue, hospitality, retail, corporate, or patrol)
  • Active, valid Tennessee security guard license/registration in good standing with the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance
  • Current Dallas Law certification, or willingness to complete it before your first assignment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to event sites across Middle Tennessee
  • Comfortable operating metal detection equipment and performing hands-on bag and credential screening
  • Able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
  • Able to communicate clearly and remain composed in loud, crowded, fast-moving environments

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience at concert venues, stadiums, arenas, festivals, or nightlife
  • Current CPR/AED and first aid certification
  • Experience with credential systems, ticket scanners, or access control software
  • Familiarity with Nashville-area venues

Responsibilities

  • Operate walk-through metal detectors and handheld wands at guest entry points
  • Conduct bag checks and screen for weapons and prohibited items per the venue's posted policy
  • Verify tickets, wristbands, passes, and staff or vendor credentials at controlled access points
  • Staff entrances, exits, stages, back-of-house, VIP, and other assigned posts
  • Monitor crowd flow and capacity, and keep aisles, exits, and fire lanes clear
  • Assist guests with directions, seating, and general questions
  • Identify and report suspicious activity, policy violations, and safety hazards
  • De-escalate verbally and coordinate with the shift supervisor, venue staff, and local law enforcement when a situation exceeds your post authority
  • Complete accurate, factual incident and activity reports before end of shift
  • Follow all post orders, radio protocol, and chain of command
