About The Position

Citadel Security USA is hiring dependable Unarmed Event Security Officers for a three-day event assignment in Grand Junction. Officers will help create a safe, organized, and welcoming environment by assisting guests, controlling access, conducting security screenings, and monitoring designated areas. This assignment requires reliable attendance, professional communication, and the ability to remain attentive while working outdoors and around large groups of people. Applicants must be available to work all three scheduled event days.

  • Must meet applicable requirements to work as an unarmed security officer in Colorado.
  • Selected applicants must attend both required training sessions: Wednesday, August 19 - New Hire Orientation (NHO) and required event training, Wednesday, August 26 - Crowd Management training.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable performing duties outdoors for the duration of assigned shifts.
  • Ability to work around large crowds and changing activity levels.
  • Ability to conduct foot patrols throughout assigned event areas.
  • Ability to perform security screening and access-control duties as directed.
  • Ability to remain focused during long event shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout assigned event areas.
  • Assist guests with basic questions, directions, and general event-related needs.
  • Monitor entrances, gates, and designated access points.
  • Verify authorization before allowing individuals into controlled areas.
  • Conduct bag inspections in accordance with event procedures.
  • Perform security screening at designated checkpoints.
  • Operate handheld metal detectors when assigned to screening duties.
  • Conduct foot patrols and remain alert for safety concerns or unusual activity.
  • Monitor pedestrian movement and help maintain orderly traffic through event areas.
  • Observe emergency exits and egress routes to help keep designated pathways clear.
  • Identify potential hazards and promptly communicate concerns to supervisors.
  • Respond professionally to incidents and follow established response procedures.
  • Assist event leadership and fellow security personnel with maintaining safe conditions.
  • Follow company policies, event procedures, post orders, and supervisor instructions.
  • Treat attendees, employees, vendors, and other event personnel with courtesy and respect.
  • Communicate clearly when explaining screening requirements or access procedures.
  • Remain patient and professional during busy periods or high-volume entry times.
  • Help direct guests to appropriate areas when assistance is requested.
  • Handle routine interactions professionally while maintaining security responsibilities.
