About The Position

Allied Universal Event Services is hiring part-time Event Security Officers in Reno, Nevada, to support conventions, trade shows, and other events. The role helps keep guests, staff, and venue assets safe while providing friendly, helpful customer service. Officers assist with event preparation and operations, manage venue entry, screen guests, monitor security checkpoints, and respond to crowd-control issues. Scheduling is flexible and under 30 hours per week.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old.
Must have a high school diploma, equivalent, or five years of work experience.
A valid Nevada PILB Security Guard Registration is required upon hire; candidates without an active card may be considered pending successful completion of licensing.
Must successfully complete a background investigation and a post-offer/pre-employment drug and alcohol test; additional screening may be required when driving a customer- or company-owned vehicle.
Able to use good independent judgment and discretion.
Must be able to work overtime as needed.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Assist with all aspects of event-day preparation and execution.
Manage venue entry by collecting or scanning tickets, verifying wristbands and badges, and directing traffic.
Screen guests using bag searches, hand wands or metal detectors, and ID verification.
Monitor vital checkpoints for security breaches and protect guests, staff, and venue assets.
Respond promptly to potential crowd-control issues and escort unruly guests when ejections are warranted.
Understand and follow the policies, procedures, and regulations of different venues, facilities, and events.
Provide a positive experience for guests at entrances, aisles, concourses, and other locations.
Offer guests helpful directions and suggestions to improve their entertainment experience.
