About The Position

The Event Management Center (EMC) Dispatcher is primarily responsible for answering radio calls and entering incidents into the Raven Controls Incident Management System to help ensure a safe ballpark experience for guests and to respond promptly to safety inquiries. The role supports event operations at Petco Park and surrounding Padres parking venues by communicating with team members, monitoring guest messages, coordinating resources, troubleshooting incidents, and documenting communications. The position is part-time and non-exempt.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment.
Must be consistent and punctual, with reliable attendance.
Ability to multitask and remain calm in stressful situations.
Ability to read, understand, and communicate Petco Park policies, procedures, and other ballpark information.
Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Positive attitude and strong ability to work well with co-workers and supervisors in a team environment.
Maintain a neat, professional appearance as outlined by the San Diego Padres Organization and Employee Handbook.
Able to travel to and access various areas of the ballpark for prolonged periods during games and events, and ascend and descend stairs.
Must be available to work at least 75% of all scheduled events during each calendar year, including Padres home games, full venue events, and Gallagher Square concerts.
Available to work flexible hours on a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including a background check.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Raven Controls (Incident Management System).
Previous radio dispatch experience.
Education and/or certifications relevant to the position.
Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

Proactively welcome guests and exemplify the Petco Park Promise: CARE, CONNECT, EXCEED.
Respond to team member communications through two-way radio, phone, communicator devices, text, or instant message.
Monitor Titan HST and Raven Controls’ Raven Eye text module and respond appropriately to guest texts.
Collaborate with the EMC Manager and service providers to ensure appropriate resources are deployed to locations during events.
Respond to team members’ inquiries about ballpark policies, promotions, and events.
Troubleshoot incidents inside the ballpark or at surrounding Padres parking venues, with assistance from the EMC Manager.
Document appropriate game-day communications and incidents in Raven Controls.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Padres Management.
