Arena Intelligence, Inc.•Bay Area, CA

About The Position

Arena Intelligence is seeking an Event/Field Marketing Manager to lead how the company engages with its community and industry in person. The role will develop and run Arena-hosted events, including Bay Area meetups, dinners, workshops, model-launch gatherings, and VIP experiences, while managing the company’s presence at major AI research and industry conferences. The goal is to turn Arena’s online credibility into in-person relationships with users, researchers, enterprise teams, and partners. As part of the Marketing team, this hands-on, high-ownership role will collaborate with Product Marketing, Community, Research, Communications, Partnerships, and Sales. The manager will own event strategy and execution from planning through measurement, build scalable event processes, and translate Arena’s evaluation methodology and community into accessible, engaging experiences that retain scientific rigor. The position is based in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area, with on-site work at the downtown office and travel to events.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in event marketing, field marketing, or experiential marketing, ideally at a technology company in AI, developer tools, SaaS, or data-driven products.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area, and willing to work on-site at the downtown office.
  • Track record of planning and executing events of different sizes, from intimate VIP dinners to large conference programs, on time and within budget.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendors, venues, and contracts, with strong attention to detail and logistics.
  • Experience marketing to technical audiences such as researchers, engineers, and developers, and the ability to create events they want to attend.
  • Ability to measure event performance and connect it to business outcomes such as community growth, user activation, and pipeline.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, and comfort representing Arena in person to a high-caliber audience.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and iterating quickly in an early-stage, fast-moving environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, ownership, prioritization, and self-direction.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and events and work some evenings and weekends when events require it.
  • Willingness to handle hands-on venue logistics, including receiving freight and shipments and setting up sponsorship items, often independently.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI or machine learning conferences, research communities, or developer events.
  • Background in communities, platforms, or products with network effects.
  • Experience hosting enterprise or executive events alongside Sales or Partnerships teams.
  • Familiarity with event attribution, lead capture, and follow-up workflows.
  • Experience explaining scientific methodology and complex systems to target audiences.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Notion, Google Drive, Luma, and Figma.
  • Prior startup experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own Arena’s event and field marketing strategy, including the annual calendar, budget, and goals for brand awareness, community growth, and pipeline.
  • Plan and run Arena-hosted events end to end, including community meetups, model-launch gatherings, researcher and developer dinners, workshops, and VIP experiences, with a focus on the Bay Area.
  • Lead Arena’s presence at AI research and industry conferences, including sponsorships, booths, side events, speaking slots, and on-site team coordination.
  • Build repeatable playbooks for event planning, vendor and venue selection, run-of-show, staffing, and follow-up.
  • Partner with Community and Product Marketing to align events with product launches, model releases, and campaigns, and create clear ways for attendees to engage with Arena afterward.
  • Work with Partnerships and Sales to identify target accounts, labs, and enterprise contacts and design events that advance those relationships.
  • Translate Arena’s evaluation methodology and community into event content, talks, demos, and on-site experiences that are accessible while preserving rigor.
  • Manage event budgets, contracts, vendors, venues, swag, and travel logistics.
  • Capture and repurpose event content, including photos, video, on-site interviews, recaps, social posts, and emails, in coordination with Communications and Community.
  • Define and track success metrics, including attendance quality, user activation, influenced pipeline, and sentiment, and report on outcomes and improvements.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation aligned to the markets where team members are based; role-specific compensation ranges are listed on the job posting and depend on experience and work location.
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and additional support programs.
  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge AI with a small, mission-driven team.
  • A culture that values transparency, trust, and community impact.
