About The Position

The Event Day Guest Experience Elevator Usher plays a key role in delivering an exceptional, safe, and seamless guest journey at the Toyota Center. This position is responsible for managing elevator flow, assisting guests with navigation, and ensuring a welcoming, organized environment throughout every event. Must have a calm demeanor and be able to communicate issues clearly. A working knowledge of building operations is also needed to be able to direct information accordingly. As a visible member of the Guest Experience team, this role is perfect for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy setting and are passionate about creating memorable moments for fans and visitors.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience
  • Must work 70% of scheduled events each month
  • Possess enough technical aptitude to understand and operate the elevator
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent social and leadership skills with a diverse staff
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Sound judgement and quick decision-making capability
  • Good verbal and interpersonal skills required
  • Carry a pleasant impression of the company through courteous and sincere conduct
  • Professional presentation, appearance and work ethic
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff up to and including senior leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Create a best-in-class guest experience.
  • Always maintain neatness in assigned areas.
  • Push buttons to open and close the doors at each floor where guests want to enter/exit the elevator.
  • Provide directional assistance to various locations throughout the facility
  • Ensure that proper passenger load guidelines are followed and be alert to any malfunction
  • Make sure that all passengers follow proper protocols to enter and exit the elevator safely, and that guests adhere to proper behavior while riding the elevator.
  • Notify Event Supervisor and/or Security by radio if issues or emergencies arise
  • Enforce rules and regulations of the building (i.e. no smoking)
  • Provide calmness, courtesy, respect, and professionalism to all guests and fellow employees.
  • May need to prevent unauthorized users from getting inside by instructing them to wait for an additional time period
  • Must be able to work 70% of the Toyota Center events each month
