  • Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, HTTP, WebSocket, or MQTT.
  • Experience using Python, Postman, Wireshark, Git, Jira, or similar debugging and QA tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux, firmware testing, serial communications, or network diagnostics.
  • Understanding of AC/DC power, electrical measurements, power electronics, or energy-management principles.
  • Exposure to EV charging equipment, OCPP, ISO 15118, or other communication protocols.
  • Experience developing automated test scripts, test fixtures, or hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing.
  • Previous internship, university project, or professional experience involving system testing, validation, or technical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform manual and automated testing to verify system functionality, reliability, and interoperability.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute functional, integration, regression, and system-level test cases for EV charging hardware and software.
  • Identify, reproduce, document, and track hardware, firmware, communication, and software defects through resolution.
  • Analyze test results, system logs, error messages, and device behavior to identify root causes and support troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with software developers and QA teams to validate bug fixes, new features, and system releases.
  • Support development of test scripts, procedures, and QA automation using Python, Postman, and other applicable frameworks.
  • Assist senior engineers with onboarding, configuration, integration, and validation of commercial AC Level 2 and DC fast chargers from multiple manufacturers.
  • Test charger connectivity and communication with DynaChrg's EVES™ Charging Station Management System.
  • Learn and perform OCPP 1.6 and OCPP 2.0.1 protocol testing, including charger registration, status notifications, transactions, remote commands, configuration, firmware management, and meter values.
