About The Position

As a Staff Product Systems Engineer on General Motors’ Embedded Application System Engineering (EAS) team, you will help develop end-to-end next-generation EV Charging and V2X solutions. Using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), you will translate product requirements into system architectures, functional designs, simulation environments, and testable hardware and software requirements. You will collaborate with engineering, product, validation, UX, and program teams to develop reliable, customer-focused features for the connected vehicle experience. The role includes technical leadership of related systems engineers and representation of the systems team on architecture review boards for overarching VIP and SDV platform decisions. You will also help define product co-simulation environments and lead complex cross-functional initiatives to improve traceability, efficiency, and performance across the EAS team and the broader organization. This is a hybrid role. The selected candidate is expected to report to a specific location at least three times a week, or at another frequency set by their manager. Relocation benefits are available to candidates who qualify under company policy.

  • Identify, develop, and define feature, system, and solution requirements, interfaces, states, and performance targets within infotainment, mechatronics, compute, and other domain systems.
  • Use MBSE or model-based development to create functions and linkages through use case diagrams, activity diagrams, API connections, and related methods.
  • Support the Quad (System, Solution, Product, Architecture) for requirements, architecture, and FMEA development at each level of decomposition.
  • Participate in decomposing and allocating product, feature, and system functionality to software and platform teams.
  • Collaborate with software engineering, validation, UX, mobile, vehicle platform, infrastructure, and Cloud Services partners.
