EUS Manager

PIMCO•Austin, TX
•$150,000 - $225,000

About The Position

PIMCO is seeking a practical manager to lead the End User Services (EUS) technical team responsible for Citrix, desktop, virtual compute, and Nutanix-aligned services. This is a leadership and execution role, not a hands-on engineering position. The manager will guide technical resources, drive execution, strengthen operational discipline, and ensure reliable service delivery in a global enterprise environment. The successful candidate will lead skilled engineers, translate business priorities into actionable work, set clear expectations, and hold the team accountable for results. They need sufficient technical depth to understand the platforms, ask informed questions, validate technical direction, and make effective decisions while relying on subject-matter experts for detailed engineering. Success means that priorities and ownership are clear, work progresses, risks are raised early, service reliability improves, and engineers are coached to deliver without the manager serving as the default engineer. The technical scope includes Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, PVS/MCS concepts, Director, NetScaler/ADC concepts, remote access, load balancing, authentication, certificates and high availability; Windows desktop and virtual desktop engineering, image and application management, Group Policy, profile management, patching and performance troubleshooting; and Nutanix HCI concepts, platform availability, capacity awareness, escalation management, and dependencies across compute, storage, networking and virtual desktop.

Requirements

  • Experience managing or leading technical resources in an enterprise EUS environment.
  • Sufficient technical fluency across the stated EUS platforms to guide a team, challenge assumptions, and make informed decisions; deep hands-on engineering expertise in every area is not required.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into actionable work, set expectations, and hold a team accountable for outcomes.
  • Ability to manage projects and operational work, track actions, remove blockers, surface risks, and deliver results.
  • Ability to communicate risks, tradeoffs, and decisions clearly to senior leaders, technology peers, vendors, and business stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Citrix Cloud, StoreFront, Delivery Controllers, PVS/MCS concepts, Director, and related administration models.
  • Familiarity with NetScaler/ADC concepts, remote access, load balancing, authentication flows, certificates, and high availability patterns.
  • Familiarity with Windows desktop and virtual desktop engineering, image management, application delivery, Group Policy, profile management, patching, and performance troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with Nutanix HCI concepts, platform availability, capacity awareness, escalation management, and compute, storage, networking, and virtual desktop dependencies.
  • Ability to coordinate across infrastructure, Windows, directory services, messaging, networking, security, service desk, application, and release/change management teams.
  • Ability to manage operational discipline, governance, security, compliance, audit, and change requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage, coach, and develop technical resources supporting EUS platforms; establish ownership, priorities, delivery expectations, and accountability.
  • Drive projects, operational initiatives, remediation efforts, and service improvements from planning through completion; track actions, remove blockers, and deliver outcomes.
  • Provide practical technical leadership across Citrix, desktop engineering, VDI, Windows endpoint services, Nutanix-aligned infrastructure, and related EUS platforms.
  • Improve incident follow-up, problem management, change readiness, documentation, monitoring, capacity awareness, and engineering-to-operations handoffs.
  • Communicate clearly with senior leaders, peer technology teams, service owners, vendors, and business stakeholders; present risks, tradeoffs, and decisions directly and actionably.
  • Balance project delivery, operational stability, lifecycle management, security requirements, audit needs, and support escalations.
  • Coordinate with Infrastructure, Windows, Active Directory, Exchange, Networking, Security, Service Desk, Application teams, and Release/Change Management to resolve dependencies.
  • Engage external vendors and partners on support cases, roadmap discussions, platform improvements, licensing, and service accountability.
  • Ensure changes are planned, reviewed, documented, tested, and communicated in alignment with enterprise governance, security, compliance, and change management requirements.
  • Identify recurring issues, process gaps, automation opportunities, and service improvement areas, and drive measurable improvements.

  • Discretionary performance bonus
  • Education reimbursements
  • Ongoing training in technology, communication, and diversity and inclusion
  • Career mobility and opportunities to learn different functions and technologies
