About The Position

In this hands-on role, support Apple Operations and Engineering in developing and sustaining high-quality products. Own the quality systems framework at Asia-based suppliers across the full product lifecycle, from early development through mass production and end of life. Build, audit, and continually improve supplier quality management systems so that process control, change management, traceability, and corrective action are robust and sustainable. Lead on-site problem-solving, metrology review and development, and improvements in supplier yield, process capability, and product field performance. Develop and maintain supplier quality system requirements, assess supplier systems against Apple requirements and industry standards, identify gaps, and drive improvement roadmaps. Establish change management and end-to-end traceability, and verify document control, calibration, training, and equipment maintenance systems. Support cross-functional stage-gate reviews during new product introduction. Review supplier capability and readiness, quality and reliability plans, FMEAs, control plans, and critical-to-quality characteristics. Lead metrology development, including measurement system analysis, gauge R&R, inspection solution design, and cross-site correlation. Manage supplier resources and conduct system, process, and product audits. Track findings through closure and verify corrective action effectiveness. Establish quality plans and inspection controls, drive supplier yield and efficiency improvements, apply statistical tools to monitor processes, and lead failure analysis and corrective and preventive action efforts. Analyze field performance and incorporate lessons into design, process, and quality plans. Guide supplier quality engineers, develop supplier capability through training, and establish reporting of final inspection and test results. Work with Apple Engineering, Operations, Reliability, Program Management, and Supply Chain teams and communicate quality status, risks, and mitigation plans in English and Mandarin. Frequent travel to supplier sites across China is expected.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of quality management experience in manufacturing, with hands-on exposure to quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge of quality system standards and methodologies, such as ISO 9001 or equivalent, and FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, and SPC.
  • Experience developing process quality plans, supplier quality deliverables, and inspection solutions, and driving CAPA and failure analysis using methods such as 8D, 5-Why, and fishbone.
  • Strong statistical data analysis skills and knowledge of statistics, including DOE, capability analysis (Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk), and JMP or Minitab.
  • Experience conducting supplier system, process, and product audits, including planning, execution, reporting, and closure tracking.
  • Leadership, project management, communication, teamwork, influencing, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interface with multiple Apple functional teams, suppliers, and sub-tier suppliers.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to supplier sites across China.
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin.
