About The Position

The Estimator for Primoris Energy Service in Hubbard, Texas, is responsible for accurately calculating the costs of construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment, to support competitive bidding and project planning. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial viability and success of energy service projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the energy or oil and gas sector.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., HCSS HeavyBid, B2W Estimate) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of construction practices, regulations, and safety standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with energy infrastructure projects (pipelines, gas compression, power generation) is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for various energy construction projects, including pipelines, facilities, and infrastructure.
  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and scope.
  • Solicit and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and pricing.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with project costs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cost databases and historical project data.
  • Participate in proposal development and client presentations as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners regarding estimate details and assumptions.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.
  • Utilize estimating software and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
