About The Position

The Mechanic inspects, repairs, and maintains plant mechanical, hydraulic, and steam-related equipment, including pumps, turbines, boilers, valves, compressors, couplings, safety valves, fans, and heat exchangers. The role supports safe and productive plant operations through troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, and equipment repair, replacement, removal, and installation. The position also performs equipment clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor and follows applicable safety and environmental regulations and procedures.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a power plant or heavy industrial setting.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Standard computer-based skills.
• Effective oral and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with or perform troubleshooting of plant equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure equipment functions properly.
• Carry out daily maintenance, construction, demolition, overhauls, repairs, replacements, and removal and installation of plant equipment and structures.
• Provide skills for maintaining equipment at the plant.
• Perform clearances in LOTOV under the direction of a senior operator or supervisor.
• Use and operate hand, power, precision, and machine tools needed to support safe and productive work.
• Understand and follow current safety and environmental regulations for all phases of work.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental procedures related to plant operations and maintenance, including Lockout Tagout, Job Safety Analysis, Confined Space, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, and PPE.
• Progress skills within the primary skill set and continually improve job skills and knowledge.
