About The Position

Hotel Ivy is a luxury boutique hotel in downtown Minneapolis. The Esthetician performs esthetic services, including facials and waxing, for spa guests and members. The role includes reviewing client intake forms, selecting appropriate treatments, and documenting guest medical history, services performed, skin analysis, and product recommendations in the Spa Computer System. The Esthetician is expected to provide a professional, welcoming, and therapeutic guest experience while maintaining confidentiality, professional boundaries, and a clean appearance and treatment room.

Requirements

Current state cosmetology or Esthetician’s license.
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of experience in esthetics.
In-depth knowledge of current esthetic industry techniques, equipment, services, and products.
Willingness to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality regarding guests and staff.
Customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively with clients, clinic management, fellow therapists, and sales staff.
Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, and push carts weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Good dexterity in fingers, wrists, and hands, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Ability to stand and move throughout the spa and continuously perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to adapt communication style to different audiences.

Responsibilities

Greet guests and members in a professional, friendly manner.
Review client intake forms and select appropriate spa treatments based on each client’s needs.
Perform spa treatments within the scope of training and follow draping protocols.
Complete accurate and legible client intake notes.
Create an excellent experience through therapeutic touch and a friendly attitude.
Promote the health and wellness benefits of spa treatments and recommend service frequency for each client.
Safeguard client information and confidentiality.
Maintain professional boundaries and avoid dual relationships with clients.
Maintain a clean, pressed uniform and keep the therapy room clean while following table-dressing and draping protocols.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
