About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Esports Coach & Party Host to lead competitive gaming sessions, provide coaching, and create a fun, engaging atmosphere for events and parties. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about esports and is enthusiastic about helping players of all skill levels improve while also creating memorable party experiences. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide hands-on coaching and mentoring to players in various esports titles (e.g., Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, and Mario Cart, etc.) Develop and implement strategies to help players improve their performance in key areas such as teamwork, gaming skills, strategy, and communication. Promote positive sportsmanship, inclusion and respectful behavior among participants Organize friendly competitions, mini-tournaments, and skill-building activities Assist in organizing and managing competitive tournaments or league play. Monitor participant behavior and enforce YMCA policies and expectations Plan and host esports-themed parties and events, ensuring a fun and engaging experience for all attendees. Set up gaming stations, assist guests with equipment, and facilitate friendly competitions or casual play during parties. Manage the party timeline and adapt to the needs of the group, providing customer service and ensuring all guests have an enjoyable experience. Assist with event setup, cleanup, and coordination with other staff Create a lively atmosphere through positive engagement, encouraging participation, and promoting a fun environment. Coordinate with parents, guardians, or event organizers to ensure all requirements are met and expectations are exceeded. Requirements

In-depth knowledge of major esports titles, including mechanics, strategy, and competitive scenes.
Experience coaching players or leading esports teams is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with players of all ages and skill levels.
Ability to manage group dynamics and lead events with enthusiasm and energy.
Customer service experience, especially in event hosting, is a plus.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
Passion for gaming and esports and a desire to foster a positive gaming community.
CPR/First Aid Certification within 6 months
Ability to respond to safety and emergencies
