The UW-Green Bay Esports Lounge, opened in February 2022, is equipped with 30 gaming PCs and 4 Nintendo Switch consoles, available to all students. The program supports competitive teams in six game titles: Rocket League, VALORANT, League of Legends, Marvel Rivals, Overwatch, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It also features an in-house broadcast studio for live streaming matches. Teams primarily compete in the Wisconsin Esports Conference, often leading to regional LAN events before the championship LAN. Each team's semester focuses on a central goal, with practice schedules aligned with student-athletes' objectives. Rosters are formed through open tryouts up to three times annually, incorporating student-athlete feedback, and student leadership is a key aspect of the team environment. Esports Game Coaches are responsible for leading their assigned game title team to competitive success, as defined by the team, while also fostering student development. This role offers a flexible work environment, allowing for either in-person or remote work, though in-person attendance is preferred.
