About The Position

The Office of Innovation and Technology (OIT), in partnership with the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and the Office of the Director of Finance, is undertaking a major Citywide project to modernize core financial, grants, procurement, and supply chain business processes. This project, known as the OPAL ERP and DW/BI project, will replace existing systems and enable the City to achieve benefits such as reduced transaction processing time, improved access to information for reporting and analysis, and easier onboarding for new employees. The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Organizational Change Management Trainer is responsible for designing and delivering training for this project, requiring skills in change management, including implementing, communicating, and monitoring changes, conducting impact and readiness assessments, and possessing both technical and teaching skills to ensure users can effectively utilize the ERP and supporting systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a combination of education and progressively responsible work experience in a related area.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience as a technical trainer, change management analyst, or similar role.
  • Minimum of five years relevant experience as a technical trainer, training coordinator, or similar role.
  • Knowledge of Full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Ability to keep data confidential.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytic skill sets.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills (including ability to present ideas in user-friendly, business-friendly, and technical language) and interpersonal skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills.
  • Strong meeting facilitation and interviewing skills.
  • Meeting presentation and end-user training delivery skills.
  • Ability to work well with individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced organization.
  • Supervising, coaching, and collaborating skills.
  • Hands-on experience with learning management and training material development and delivery tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with implementing ERP and/or DW/BI solutions is strongly preferred.
  • Proven work experience as an IT Trainer, Technical Trainer or similar role with Workday ERP, preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver training sessions for end-users on the ERP and related supporting systems, customizing content based on user roles and business processes.
  • Conduct both classroom and online training sessions.
  • Develop plans for implementing, communicating, and monitoring changes, including impact assessments, stakeholder analysis, and readiness assessments.
  • Measure the effectiveness of change initiatives, collect feedback, analyze data, and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Understand the functionality of the ERP system and its modules.
  • Provide technical support to users during training sessions and troubleshoot related issues.
  • Support the user community.
  • Implement change as part of the change management team.
  • Establish relationships with functional SMEs and technical teams.
