About The Position

This position is located at Fruitdale Elementary School and involves working with an ERC team of assistants to support special needs students. The role requires the ability to work one-on-one or in small groups, discipline with dignity, and take initiative. The assistant will be expected to stand, walk, or sit on the floor while working with students and may need to physically lift, move, or restrain a student on a regular basis. The position requires the ability to meet the standard for a highly qualified para-professional.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Two (2) years of college coursework or Associate’s Degree (may be waived pending successful performance on skills test administered by the District)
Person filling this position will have to be fingerprinted
Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional

Nice To Haves

Understanding of age-appropriate behavioral issues
Knowledge and experience with basic computer operations desired
