About The Position

The Instructional Assistant-Elementary position at Fruitdale Elementary School is a 4-day per week, 155-day per year role. The position involves assisting teachers with students, including supervision and conducting small reading groups. New hires will be placed based on prior contracted educational experience. Requirements

• Able to work with small children
• Proficient in elementary school level math, spelling, reading and English usage
• Good computer skills
• Ability to take initiative and be self-directed
• Ability to discipline with dignity
• Must qualify or be able to meet standard for highly qualified para-professional

• Two (2) years of college coursework or Associate's Degree (May be waived pending successful performance on skills test administered by the District)
• High School Diploma or GED required
