About The Position

The Emergency Services Technician supports patient care and performs administrative and clinical procedures. Working collaboratively with a team of practitioners, the technician helps achieve strong health care outcomes and patient experiences. The position is at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, a 388-bed acute-care hospital with a 24-hour Emergency Department and other specialized services.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Current Washington state certification or licensure as a CNA or NA-R, MA-P, MA-C, or successful completion of an EMT training course.
MA-P or EMT credential holders must obtain NA-R within 180 days of hire.
CNA, NA-R, or EMT credential holders must obtain MA-P by a date determined by location; Mary Bridge Hospital and Yakima locations do not require MA-P.
Current BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience as a CNA, NA-R, corpsman, or EMT in an emergency department, pre-hospital, or acute-care setting within the last three years.

Responsibilities

Assist in providing direct patient care as directed by a health care practitioner.
Use critical thinking to maintain a safe, therapeutic, and aesthetic environment.
Use knowledge from nursing education and experience to deliver nursing care through the nursing process, following hospital policies, procedures, and protocols.
Collaborate with the team to improve quality of care and patient experience and reduce costs.
Foster a learning environment for patients, families, nursing staff, and other members of the health care team.
Advocate for ethical, holistic care that promotes the autonomy, dignity, and health of patients from diverse ethnic and social backgrounds.
