About The Position

We are seeking an experienced ER Nurse Manager to provide 24/7 operational oversight for a busy Emergency Department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, staff development, regulatory compliance, and departmental fiscal management. The ideal candidate will have strong Emergency Department leadership experience and the ability to effectively manage clinical operations while fostering a collaborative and patient-centered environment.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing required
  • 3–5 years of progressive clinical and administrative leadership experience required
  • Active Massachusetts RN License required
  • ACLS (AHA) required
  • PALS (AHA) required
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Customer service and interpersonal relationship skills
  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong collaboration and cross-functional coordination skills

Responsibilities

  • Coach, mentor, and educate nursing staff
  • Develop individual and team performance improvement plans
  • Conduct staff evaluations, counseling, and competency assessments
  • Lead committees, performance improvement initiatives, and task forces
  • Promote staff engagement and professional development
  • Oversee daily Emergency Department operations and workflow management
  • Ensure appropriate staffing coverage and resource allocation
  • Improve patient satisfaction and customer service outcomes
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support organizational goals
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and policies
  • Manage clinical nursing practice and patient care delivery
  • Monitor adherence to nursing plans, protocols, and medical regimens
  • Ensure compliance with: Medication reconciliation standards, Hand hygiene protocols, VAP bundle compliance
  • Participate in Emergency Department committee initiatives and follow-up actions
  • Monitor staffing and departmental supply expenses
  • Analyze and justify budget variances
  • Implement cost-saving and operational efficiency strategies
  • Support department growth and resource planning initiatives
