About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Pathologists’ Assistant to support diagnostic pathology services within a healthcare laboratory setting. This role is responsible for assisting with gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens, preparing samples for testing, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation. The ideal candidate will work closely with pathologists, laboratory staff, and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality and timely pathology results.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Health Science, Pathology, or related field
  • ASCP Certification
  • Minimum 1 year of technical experience in a healthcare setting
  • Expertise in surgical tissue grossing and dissection
  • Knowledge of laboratory specimen handling and processing
  • Strong clinical documentation and data accuracy skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to perform intermittent hand manipulation
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs occasionally

Responsibilities

  • Assist with gross examination and dissection of surgical tissue specimens
  • Prepare and submit specimens for histological and laboratory testing
  • Accurately document specimen details and maintain tracking systems
  • Summarize relevant patient medical histories for pathology review
  • Work closely with pathologists and supervising physicians
  • Coordinate with laboratory personnel and hospital departments
