About The Position

The Equipment Transporter moves equipment in accordance with applicable policies and procedures and provides superior customer service by modeling the Brand Promise and Core Values. This is a per diem evening position in Materials Management at 1555 Long Pond Road, Rochester, New York. Shifts vary as needed and are primarily 3–7 p.m. or 5–9 p.m.

Requirements

• Must meet the stated heavy physical-demand requirements, including work that may involve lifting materials up to 100 pounds, climbing, crawling, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the decontamination lead technician and promptly report problems, delays, and completions.
• Move carts and other designated equipment as directed, following applicable policies and procedures.
• Handle equipment properly and treat customers with courtesy and professionalism.
• Maintain transporting equipment and store it in designated areas when not in use.
• Understand and comply with universal precautions and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge needed to provide backup support to other departments.
• Wash carts using approved manual or automated methods before returning them to service.
• Handle general refuse and ensure proper disposal.
• Handle soiled linen and ensure proper segregation of material into linen cages.
