About The Position

This position will cover parts of Southern Aroostook County as well as our Chester location. The equipment operator supports Treeline’s construction and forestry operations by safely operating heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, compactors, front end loaders, delimbers, skidders, skid steers, dump trucks (with licensure) and other machinery used in our various operations. The operator ensures efficient production flow, proper handling of logs and lumber, and adherence to Treeline’s strong safety culture.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Current Valid Class B Driver’s License (Class A is a plus, but not required)
  • Take orders, instructions, and guidance from supervisors and management.
  • Apply knowledge of mechanical functioning of various components on the equipment and make manage repairs related to the equipment as these problems occur.
  • Perform these jobs on an individual basis as well as being able to work with others in group situations.
  • Do various jobs utilizing proper body mechanics.
  • Perform the jobs required to repair equipment according to all regulations and specifications.
  • Comply with all company safety related rules.
  • Work with safety related equipment to perform your duties.
  • Always make sure that the equipment being worked on is made safe for oneself and other employees before performing any work-related tasks.
  • Perform Lockout/Tagout as required.

  • Maintain an OSHA approved first aid kit.
  • Understands and adheres to Treeline’s employment handbook.
  • Operate the equipment in a safe and effective manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Perform preventative maintenance.
  • Advise Job Foreman of any requirements for maintenance or repairs.
  • Participate in routine maintenance.
  • Cross train in other positions as deemed appropriate by the site foreman.
  • Work in an efficient way as a team member.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned
