Equipment Operator, Wet Utilities

About The Position

The Equipment Operator, Wet Utilities excavates trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer projects, installs trench boxes as necessary, and operates equipment in accordance with Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures. The role ensures proper excavation and compaction, maintains equipment through daily inspections and scheduled greasing, and applies working knowledge of underground utilities. The operator also manages quality control and production, provides hands-on training to team members as needed, and performs other related duties required to complete the job.

Requirements

Ability to access secured facilities.
Ability to operate large excavators with precision.
High attention to detail.
Must be physically fit to perform manual labor in varied environments and conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to sit and stand regularly, use hands and fingers to handle or feel, and verbally communicate and listen.
Must be able to walk, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must have distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Excavate trenches for water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer.
Install trench boxes as necessary.
Operate equipment in compliance with Muller's safety policies and OSHA procedures.
Ensure proper excavation and compaction procedures are performed.
Maintain equipment by performing daily inspections and greasing equipment at required intervals.
Demonstrate a working knowledge of underground utilities.
Manage quality control and production.
Train team members as needed in a hands-on manner.
Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required to complete the job.
