About The Position
The Equipment Operator A for Event Services with the Department of Agriculture plays a key part in keeping the Farm Show Complex running smoothly. Requirements
- Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working around animals and livestock and in large-scale public events.
Responsibilities
- Operate a wide range of machinery such as loaders, forklifts, tractors, lifts, sweepers, scrubbers, and snow removal equipment
- Assist in hauling, placing, setting up, and tearing down furniture, equipment, barriers, pens, stages, and other items for events
- Maintain buildings and grounds by sweeping, mopping, cleaning restrooms, removing trash, disinfecting surfaces, and performing general custodial work
- Move, load, and unload supplies such as straw, hay, feed, scrap materials, and deliveries throughout the complex
- Perform minor repairs, conduct preventative maintenance checks, and identify equipment defects during daily operation
- Help clean livestock areas, spread materials, remove debris, shovel snow, and support additional manual tasks as assigned
