Requirements

• Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must be in possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Must possess a valid Class B or higher Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement.
• Must be able to perform essential job functions.
• A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and drug screening.
• A conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Operate cars, vans, buses, and other vehicles to transport residents to appointments, activities, and destinations
• Check locking devices on residents and equipment to ensure safe travel before moving vehicles
• Pick up and deliver mail, supplies, samples, and other materials locally and long distance
• Perform basic repairs, inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment
• Operate snow removal and cinder spreading equipment during inclement weather
• Assist with departmental duties such as loading vehicles, maintaining records, and completing paperwork
