The Equipment Operator A position with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA) gives you the chance to make a meaningful impact at the Southeastern Veterans' Center. This role supports the daily operations of the Southeastern Veterans' Center by transporting residents, materials, and supplies using a variety of vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

• Six months experience in the operation and maintenance of large vans, buses and single-chassis trucks with a gross vehicle weight of 10,001 pounds or more; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Possession of a valid Class C Pennsylvania driver's license.
• Ability to perform essential job functions.
• Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
• Medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Drive cars, trucks, vans, buses, and other vehicles to transport residents and materials
• Check and secure locking devices on residents and their equipment before transport
• Make local and long distance deliveries of supplies, mail, and medical items
• Operate snow removal, hauling, and other equipment needed for maintenance work
• Complete inspections, minor repairs, and cleaning of vehicles and equipment
• Assist with loading, unloading, recordkeeping, and other assigned department tasks
