About The Position

The Parts & Delivery Driver is responsible for safely transporting parts, materials, equipment, inventory, tools, and other authorized property between Milford locations, approved vendors, customer facilities, storage locations, and project sites. This position operates company-owned light-duty trucks and approved non-CDL trailer combinations, prepares and secures loads, completes required transportation and delivery records, and helps ensure deliveries are completed safely, accurately, professionally, and on schedule. When not making deliveries, the Parts & Delivery Driver supports branch and warehouse operations by pulling customer orders, staging deliveries, loading customer pickups, organizing inventory, participating in inventory counts, maintaining clean work areas, and assisting with other operational duties as assigned. This position does not routinely perform receiving duties. The Parts & Delivery Driver frequently interacts with customers and represents Milford at customer locations. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance and communicate in a courteous, respectful, and customer-focused manner. Success in this position requires safe driving, reliable attendance, strong customer service, accurate documentation, load-securement proficiency, attention to detail, flexibility, integrity, and a willingness to support overall branch operations.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
At least one year of experience in delivery driving, warehouse operations, transportation, industrial distribution, oilfield supply, construction materials, equipment movement, or a related field preferred.
Previous experience operating pickup trucks and trailers is preferred.
Working knowledge of industrial, oilfield, construction, HDPE, fusion, piping, equipment, or related products is preferred but not required.
Complete all required Milford, Winsupply, customer, vehicle, trailer, safety, technology, and policy training within designated timeframes.
Complete defensive-driving, vehicle-inspection, accident-reporting, load-securement, trailer-safety, backing-safety, GPS, camera, telematics, fuel-card, and expense-documentation training within the timeframe established by Milford.
Ability to provide or obtain H2S, PEC, and other customer-specific safety credentials through Milford when required.
Obtain and maintain forklift certification and company authorization within 30 days of hire or another timeframe established by Milford.
Complete customer-specific safety training within two months of hire or another timeframe established by Milford.
Successful completion and maintenance of all required licenses, training, certifications, driving requirements, forklift authorization, customer-site credentials, and company qualifications is a condition of continued employment.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license, acceptable motor vehicle record, and insurability under Milford requirements.
Ability to safely operate light-duty pickup trucks and approved non-CDL trailer combinations.
Ability to safely drive across state lines when assigned.
Ability to inspect vehicles, trailers, hitches, tires, lights, securement devices, cameras, GPS systems, and related safety equipment.
Ability to properly distribute and secure loads using approved straps, chains, binders, blocks, chocks, tie-downs, and related equipment.
Ability to recognize and refuse unsafe, overloaded, improperly documented, inadequately secured, or potentially regulated loads.
Ability to read and follow sales orders, picking documents, packing slips, transfer records, delivery tickets, maps, labels, customer instructions, and safety information.
Ability to accurately identify, count, pull, stage, load, deliver, and document parts, materials, equipment, and inventory.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, count materials, verify quantities, compare records, and identify discrepancies.
Strong customer-service skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers, employees, vendors, contractors, and members of the public.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate delivery status, delays, safety concerns, discrepancies, and customer issues promptly and professionally.
Ability to work independently while maintaining communication, accountability, documentation, and follow-through.
Ability to manage changing routes, schedules, priorities, customer requests, and operational demands.
Ability to use GPS, navigation applications, email, mobile devices, electronic delivery systems, Microsoft 365, and other assigned technology.
Ability to maintain and submit accurate fuel receipts, mileage records, delivery records, and other transportation documentation.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to safely perform the essential functions, understand safety and transportation information, read delivery documents, and complete required records.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding customers, projects, locations, pricing, inventory, equipment, vehicle-monitoring information, and other sensitive business information.
Ability to complete customer-specific safety, site-access, badging, screening, and qualification requirements.
Ability to work extended hours, weekends, on-call rotations, rare overnight assignments, and modified schedules.
Reliable attendance, punctuality, and availability are essential functions of the position.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating pickup trucks and trailers is preferred.
Working knowledge of industrial, oilfield, construction, HDPE, fusion, piping, equipment, or related products is preferred but not required.
Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are preferred based on customer and branch needs.

Responsibilities

Safely operate assigned company-owned light-duty pickup trucks and approved non-CDL trailer combinations.
Transport parts, materials, equipment, tools, inventory, branch transfers, and other authorized property between Milford locations, approved vendors, customer facilities, storage locations, and project sites.
Plan safe and efficient routes using approved GPS, navigation, mapping, traffic, weather, and routing applications.
Verify the delivery destination, customer information, order number, materials, quantities, equipment, documentation, and special instructions before leaving the branch.
Confirm that all transported items are supported by an approved sales order, transfer document, delivery document, work order, rental document, or other authorized transaction.
Complete deliveries and pickups accurately, safely, professionally, and within reasonable scheduled expectations.
Obtain required customer signatures, electronic delivery confirmations, photographs, receipts, timestamps, or other proof of delivery.
Promptly return completed delivery paperwork and electronic records to the appropriate department.
Communicate delays, route changes, weather concerns, traffic conditions, rejected deliveries, inaccessible locations, damaged materials, incorrect quantities, or other delivery issues to the Branch Manager or appropriate branch personnel.
Contact branch management before changing a delivery location, leaving materials without a customer representative present, or accepting a customer return.
Do not alter delivery quantities, substitute materials, authorize returns, change delivery locations, make pricing commitments, or promise additional products or services without approval.
Do not leave materials, equipment, or customer property unattended at an unapproved location.
Document shortages, overages, rejected deliveries, damaged materials, inaccessible sites, customer concerns, and other delivery discrepancies.
Return undelivered materials, unauthorized customer returns, and all related documentation to the designated Milford location unless otherwise directed.
Maintain professional conduct, appearance, language, and customer service while representing Milford.
Protect company and customer property from damage, loss, theft, contamination, misuse, or unauthorized access during loading, transportation, delivery, and unloading.
Perform occasional interstate travel as required to support Milford locations, customer needs, branch transfers, vendors, or other business requirements.
Complete rare overnight travel assignments when operationally necessary.
Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections of assigned vehicles and trailers.
Inspect tires, wheels, lights, signals, mirrors, windows, brakes, fluids, safety equipment, hitch components, trailer connections, and other required items before operation.
Verify that vehicle registrations, insurance information, emergency equipment, inspection forms, and other required documents are present and current.
Immediately report vehicle, trailer, tire, brake, lighting, hitch, safety-equipment, mechanical, or operational defects to the Branch Manager.
Do not operate a vehicle or trailer that appears unsafe, damaged, improperly connected, overloaded, inadequately secured, or outside the employee’s authorization.
The employee may report maintenance needs and assist with coordinating approved service but may not independently authorize repairs, services, parts purchases, or repair expenses unless specifically approved.
Maintain assigned vehicles and trailers in a clean, orderly, professional, and safe condition.
Refuel assigned vehicles as needed and promptly report unusual fuel usage, warning lights, fluid loss, abnormal noises, damage, or other concerns.
Promptly report accidents, citations, vehicle damage, property damage, spills, theft, cargo loss, roadside incidents, near misses, or vehicle impoundment in accordance with Milford procedures.
Immediately report any moving violation received while operating a company vehicle, driver’s-license restriction, suspension, revocation, or other event that may affect safe operation or insurability.
Cooperate fully with required accident reviews, investigations, insurance reporting, drug testing, corrective actions, and vehicle inspections.
Pull customer orders accurately using sales orders, picking documents, part numbers, descriptions, quantities, locations, and other required information.
Verify picked materials against applicable order documents and promptly report shortages, incorrect items, damaged materials, or discrepancies.
Stage customer deliveries in designated areas and organize materials according to route, customer, order, timing, size, weight, and loading requirements.
Assist with loading customer pickups and verify that materials are supported by appropriate release documentation.
Assist warehouse personnel with loading and unloading assigned delivery vehicles and trailers, excluding routine receiving responsibilities.
Stock, organize, label, and maintain inventory and storage areas when assigned.
Participate in cycle counts, physical inventories, year-end inventory, equipment counts, and material-verification activities.
Report inventory discrepancies, misplaced materials, damaged items, missing products, incorrect locations, or other concerns.
Maintain clean, safe, organized, and professional warehouse, yard, loading, staging, vehicle, and storage areas.
Keep aisles, walkways, emergency-access areas, loading areas, and workstations clear of hazards and unnecessary materials.
Assist with general warehouse, yard, branch, equipment, and operational activities when not assigned to delivery duties.
Operate a forklift only after completing required training and receiving Milford authorization.
Perform required pre-use inspections before operating a forklift.
Do not operate telehandlers, cranes, or other powered equipment outside the employee’s assigned training and authorization.
