Equestrian Maintenance Technician
About The Position
The Equestrian Maintenance Technician maintains the grounds, barns, arenas, and surrounding facilities to support horse shows and other events. The role involves landscaping, arena maintenance, facility repairs, event setup and breakdown, and cleanup while ensuring appropriate equipment use and care, following safety procedures, and maintaining cleanliness and customer service standards. The position requires groundskeeping equipment knowledge, basic maintenance skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in an outdoor environment with flexible hours.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two to three years of work-related experience, preferably in a facilities or groundskeeping environment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of operating tractors, loaders, lawn equipment, irrigation equipment, and sound equipment.
- Ability to efficiently prioritize jobs and maintain strong attention to detail.
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service and demonstrate reliability.
- Knowledge of landscaping and dragging arenas.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform physical activities including standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and lifting or moving more than 20 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Maintain grounds and support horse shows while ensuring proper use and care of equipment.
- Select appropriate equipment for each job and project.
- Cut grass and operate a weed eater.
- Clean stalls and maintain barns and rings.
- Maintain the irrigation system.
- Assist with show setup and takedown, including completing proper takedown and cleanup procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the Announcer’s Tower and Pavilion, including restrooms.
- Maintain roads and parking areas adjacent to the complex.
- Perform other duties as needed.
- Follow safety procedures and maintain high standards of work and customer service.
