About The Position

This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to clients. It involves manifesting, packaging, spill response, labeling, loading and unloading, coordinating transportation, and sampling or profiling materials while complying with state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations. The role also requires operating and maintaining equipment professionally and providing customer support.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
Strong team-player skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize work and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to follow through on assignments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.

Responsibilities

Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
Manifest, package, label, load and unload waste; respond to spills and perform cleanup or remedial activities; and coordinate transportation.
Answer client inquiries professionally and suggest solutions to existing or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce applicable compliance, health, safety, and procedural requirements under VES-TS policies.
Become familiar with applicable DOT, EPA, and VES-TS regulations required to submit paperwork and expedite hazardous-waste disposal.
Operate and maintain equipment professionally to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
