About The Position

This position provides specialized transportation and disposal services to clients. The role involves sampling and profiling materials and handling hazardous waste activities such as manifesting, packaging, spill response, labeling, loading and unloading, and coordinating transportation. Work must comply with applicable state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations, as well as company policies.

Requirements

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED).
40-hour HAZWOPER certification.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.
Strong team-player skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines.
Strong customer-service orientation.
Computer proficiency.
Ability to follow through on assignments.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science discipline.

Responsibilities

Sample waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
Manifest, package, label, load and unload materials; respond to spills and perform cleanup and remedial activities; coordinate transportation.
Maintain a professional image with clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing or potential problems.
Comply with and enforce compliance, health, safety, and procedural requirements in accordance with VES-TS policies.
Become familiar with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and VES-TS regulations required for submitting paperwork to expedite hazardous-waste disposal.
Operate and maintain equipment professionally to ensure optimum efficiency and effectiveness.
Perform other duties as assigned.
