About The Position

The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for performing complete cleaning of assigned areas, handling cleaning chemicals, removing waste, maintaining equipment, and ensuring a safe and infection-controlled working environment. This role involves indoor and occasional outdoor cleaning, including the use of ladders, and requires compliance with all safety procedures and guidelines. The position is full-time, working the 2nd shift from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm.

Responsibilities

• Performs complete cleaning of assigned areas to include, but not limited to: Dusting and sanitizing furniture, equipment, mirrors and fixtures; Washing windows, walls, ceilings, vents and light fixtures; Sweeping, scrubbing and refinishing floors; Vacuuming and shampooing carpet; Re-stocking restrooms; Replacing light bulbs; Reporting repairs.
• Assists with outdoor cleaning including parking lot, windows, and roof, which may involve the use of a ladder.
• Handles cleaning chemicals, disinfecting agents, floor strippers and finishes.
• Removes waste by collecting and transporting soiled linen, emptying trash containers, changing sharps containers, transporting solid and hazardous waste to compactors, recycling material, and emptying cigarette receptacles.
• Keeps equipment clean and orderly and reports equipment failures or other mechanical issues to maintenance staff.
• Maintains a safe working environment and provides quality service by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, infection control guidelines, and meeting departmental quality standards.
• Attends all required in-service education and training classes including safety update programs to maintain technical knowledge.
• Consistently demonstrates the ability to meet time schedules and deadlines.
